“If you are looking to improve your swimming or looking to transition from the pool to the ocean, I definitely recommend Artisan Swim and Beth Saunders.
Eager to transition from lap swimming in the pool to open water swimming, before joining Triathlon Club San Diego swim groups or buddying up with other swimmers at La Jove Cove, I needed to learn more about entry and exit through the waves, currents, sighting, swim technique and breathing adjustments, and increase my overall skills, comfort and confidence in the open water.
Scheduling sessions was exceptionally easy. Beth immediately put her passion for swimming, her Triathlon experience and coaching expertise to work to equip me with the knowledge I needed to safely and confidently swim over a mile with ease. I definitely feel ready to join and enjoy local open water swim groups and events in La Jolla this summer. Thanks, Beth! “

“Beth was exactly what our 5 year old needed to learn to swim and develop confidence in the water. She is patient, positive, and assuring and gave our daughter the strength to know she could become a strong swimmer and overcome her fears in the water. We are grateful for her teaching style and ability to bring so much joy to lessons.”

“I have three daughters, who, when they started with Beth, were 4, 7, and 10. Beth worked with them over 2 summers (we're currently in the middle of our second summer with her). She's directly responsible for my youngest being 100% water-safe (going from needing floaties to needing nothing), and working diligently on technique with my middle and oldest children.
This summer, my oldest daughter is doing the Junior Lifeguards, but Beth is still teaching her extremely valuable skills, such as how to dive into heavy waves and do kick-turns. In addition to her ability to teach a wide range of skills to a variety of ages, she is extremely friendly, patient, and flexible. She happily allows our kids to play with some of the tools she brings (such as diving rings or small toys) after their lesson is over if she's teaching other children at the pool. We love that she's able to come directly to our neighborhood pool and adapt to everyone's evolving skills (and moods)! Thank you Beth!”

“After trying 3 different swim companies/coaches, I had nearly given up trying to get my stubborn water-fearing 5-year-old to be water-safe. I’m so grateful to have found Coach Beth. For a few months, Beth worked with patience and persistence and my daughter went from crying if her if her face got wet to a swimmer who loves the water! Additionally she has also coached my older child to be competent swimming all the strokes and we may pursue joining the swim team. We continue lessons with Coach Beth this season and are blown away by our children’s progress.”

“(My children) have taken some lessons in the past but the amount they learned and improved with you after just 2 lessons blew my mind!”

“Beth is an amazing swim teacher! My son looks forward to his swim lessons each week. Beth is patient, skilled, fun, and creative. I am so grateful to Beth for teaching my son the proper swim techniques, safety, and love of swimming. His technique and speed have improved so much since starting with Beth! He enjoys diving for rings and the fun times races each lesson.”

“Beth has been such a miracle worker with our son. Our son had been with other swimming schools for 2 years (including over a year of private lessons at a swim school) and made no progress. He was terrified of putting his face in the water for even a second and lacked confidence in himself before starting with Beth. With Beth, he swam across the pool in a month and has built so much confidence in the water that he now enjoys being in the pool. She has been very patient and kind while encouraging him to push himself and incorporating the things he enjoys into their lessons together to make them more fun for him. We strongly recommend her. Thank you Beth!”
